One Billion Rising

Tears made a strategic decision to rise on February 14th between 12h00 and 14h00 at the Johannesburg Botanical gardens to stand against rape and sexual abuse. We are joining Vday, one billion rising globally against abuse. Our event is at http://onebillionrising.org/page/event/detail/w8g where people can confirm their attendance. The Tears website is at www.tears.co.za.

We aim to get people that cannot be there on the day to support the cause by wearing blue to represent of the Teardrop logo and the efforts of Tears. We hope to prompt both companies and the public to wear blue on the day. We will be in contact with the media to notify them of the companies that will register a Tears / Company closed event with their staff wearing blue on the 14th to create maximum impact. We hope to have the event covered by the Sowetan, the BBC, Primedia and other interested parties.

We ask for your utmost support in this matter as the rage of woman and students in India is at a all time high. Vday are raising awareness globally whilst South African statistics are far greater than all other countries in the world.
